Splendide antique villa toscane du XVIIème siècle appartenant à la famille Posarelli. Elle a été rénovée avec soin et se trouve dans une vaste propriété de 90 hectares entourée d’oliviers et de vignobles.
La villa est décorée avec de prestigieux meubles anciens.
Distances : le petit village de Bagnano avec épicerie et restaurant à 1 km, Barberino Val d’Elsa avec commerces variés et courts de tennis à 6 km, Certaldo à env. 6 km, San Gimignano avec ses fameuses tours médiévales à 30 km, Florence à 38 km.
Sienne et Volterra sont dans un rayon de 30 km. Aux environs on peut visiter le caractéristique village de Petrognano, dernier vestige de la ville Semifonte, détruit en 1202 par les Florentins, dont on peut encore trouver des témoignages dans toute la région.
A visiter également les anciens bourgs médiévaux de San Appiano avec son petit musée et Linari.
A disposition des hôtes : grand jardin privé et équipé (5.500 m2), belle piscine (12,5 x 6,5 m - profondeur maximale 2,50 m – ouverte du 01/04 au 31/10), pavillon avec petit bar, vestiaire, bain avec douche et buanderie avec lave-linge à proximité de la piscine.
Téléphone à disposition. Parking couvert dans la propriété. Chapelle privée. Possibilité de belles promenades dans la propriété.
Services supplémentaires : lit pour bébé disponible (€ 52,- / par semaine à payer sur place).
Sur demande, possibilité de service de nettoyage et d’une cuisinière pour préparer d’excellents dîners typiquement toscans (prix à définir sur place). Possibilité d’acheter du vin et de l’huile d’olive produits du domaine ainsi que les fruits et légumes frais du potager.

| "We stayed at the villa orchidea with a group of 14 friends and we all had the holiday of a lifetime. All the rooms are spacious and very comfortable, the catering facilities and excellent and the pool has a breathtaking view over the valley below. We would all whole-heartedley recomment a stay here to anyone. |

| The Villa is unique and has wonderful links to it origins in the 17th century. We truly enjoyed the features, its multiple rooms and it historical accuracy. |

We really enjoyed Villa Orchidea! There is a capstone above the door indicating that it was started in 1616. Some of the walls are 4 feet thick. It was very clean and well-kept.
Chira greeted us and gave us the keys. She is very charming! We would have enjoyed having her spend the week with us.
We had a group of 9 and we didn't even use several rooms. We spent most of our time in the kitchen and the smaller dining room with the huge fireplace.
The location is about half way between Florence and Sienna but we stayed with the small villages like San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Barberino, and Certaldo Alto.
There is a local pizzeria in Sciano which is about 4 km to the west. A little further to the west is Certaldo which has a good patisserie and a grocery store along the main road. East of the villa is Barberino which seems nice but we didn't have time to explore it.
One thing to note is that the washing machine didn't work very well so don't plan on doing a lot of laundry. Pack light!
